General Information

Vietnam is 6 hours ahead of CET (7 ahead of UK and 12 ahead of EST). We do not take any health responsibility for you in Vietnam, but advise you to be up to date on your general vaccinations and boosters (Diptheria, Tetanus and Polio). There is no risk of Yellow Fever currently in Vietnam and it is your choice if you wish to take Hepatitis A or Typhoid vaccinations. This is all advised from the UK Foreign Office as of February 2018, and is similar to most European Nations advice.

Flights to Vietnam

Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi are not the biggest airports but they do offer either direct flights or  reasonable connections via Bangkok, Hong Kong or Singapore to a lot of European countries. As it is such a long flight generally, you can normally find similar flight prices to fly in to HCMC and out from Hanoi as a roundtrip to either airports, but it is your choice as to how you book your flights depending on your stay dates.

We advise you to be in HCMC from the Wednesday 6th June evening (to start the event on Thursday morning) and to leave Hanoi the Tuesday 12th evening to not miss the day trip that day.

NOTE: It is often cheaper to fly via mainland China but please check exactly for specific visa information for the specific chinese airport as we have found Chinese airports have individually different regulations and tend to be extremely inefficient and slow and flights often delayed. We do not advise to fly via mainland China.
